BACARDI Cocktail Recipes: Seasonal Selection for the Discerning Palate

BACARDI rum boasts a smooth and light flavor. A strong clean finish and a light body characterize this fine spirit. Now that summer has passed, make an impression as host or bartender with one of the following crowd-pleasing fall concoctions. As always, Bacardi Limited reminds consumers to drink responsibly. (Note: Ingredients scaled to one serving unless otherwise specified)

1. Spiced Apple Martini.

Apply ground cinnamon and superfine sugar to the rim of a cocktail glass. Mix 2.5 ounces of BACARDI rum, 2 ounces of apple juice, a splash of amaretto, ice cubes, and a pinch of cinnamon. Shake to satisfaction and strain into the cocktail glass.

2. The Canitas.

In a small juice or large shot glass, combine 2 ounces of BACARDI rum, a pinch of sugar, and 1 espresso shot. If desired, add whipped cream.

3. BACARDI Hot Buttered Rum (multiple servings).

Add 1 cup sugar, 1 cup butter, and 1 cup brown sugar to a saucepan. Cook on low heat until butter is melted, stirring regularly. Mix with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream, and beat moderately (approximately 1-2 minutes) until the mixture is smooth. Store refrigerated for up to 14 days. To serve, fill a mug with ½ cup of the mixture and 1 ounce of BACARDI rum. Add ¾ cup of boiling water; stir. Sprinkle with nutmeg, if desired.

4. Spiced Pear.

In a shaker filled with ice, mix 1.5 ounces BACARDI OAKHEART spiced rum, 1 ounce pear nectar, .75 ounce each fresh lime juice and simple syrup, 2 large mint sprigs (torn and bruised), and a pinch of fresh nutmeg. Shake vigorously. Pour into a martini glass, and garnish with a thin slice of pear.
